Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and onions; cook, stirring occasionally, until tender and lightly browned, about 5 minutes.

02

Step

Pour in the white wine and add parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook until the wine reduces slightly and the flavors meld, about 3 minutes.

03

Step

Reduce heat to low. Nestle the pork chops into the mushroom mixture, spooning some of the mixture over the top of each chop. Cover the skillet and simmer gently until the pork is cooked through and slightly pink in the center. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C), about 20-25 minutes.

04

Step

Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside, keeping them warm.

05

Step

Stir in the sour cream into the sauce in the skillet. Increase heat to medium-high and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce is well blended, heated through, and slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes. Do not boil.

06

Step

Spoon the creamy mushroom sauce evenly over each pork chop and serve immediately.

For a richer flavor, consider using a combination of mushroom varieties, such as cremini or shiitake, in addition to white button mushrooms.
If you don't have fresh parsley, you can substitute 1 tablespoon of dried parsley. Add it along with the garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Serve these pork chops with a side of mashed potatoes, rice pilaf, or buttered noodles to soak up the delicious sauce. A fresh green salad or roasted asparagus makes a perfect accompaniment.
To ensure even cooking, use pork chops that are of uniform thickness.
For best results, use a dry white wine. Avoid sweet wines.
