Place over low heat and stir continuously until the mixture thickens into a paste, approximately 7-9 minutes. Add 1 teaspoon of water, or as needed, to achieve a smooth, thick consistency. Continue cooking for another 7-9 minutes until the paste is well-formed. Allow the paste to cool completely (15-20 minutes) before transferring it to an airtight glass jar and storing it in the refrigerator. This paste will keep for several weeks.
