For a richer flavor, lightly toast the individual spices in a dry skillet over medium heat for a few minutes before grinding. Be careful not to burn them! Adjust the proportions to your liking! If you prefer a spicier blend, add a pinch of ground cloves or white pepper. This spice blend is also wonderful sprinkled over roasted sweet potatoes or squash.
