For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the rum and add a splash more club soda or a dash of sparkling water. Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less sugar. Simple syrup can also be used as an alternative. Experiment with different types of rum to find your perfect balance. Aged rums will add a deeper, more complex flavor. For a visually stunning presentation, try freezing cucumber ribbons into your ice cubes. If preparing ahead of time, muddle the lime, mint, sugar, and cucumber, then refrigerate. Add the rum and club soda just before serving to maintain the fizz.
