Follow The Directions

01

Step

Melt butter in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add bacon and cook until it begins to brown and crisp, about 4 minutes. Add onion, cover, and cook until translucent, about 4 to 8 minutes. Add garlic; cook and stir for 2 minutes until fragrant.

02

Step

Increase heat to medium-high. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and crumbly, about 6 to 10 minutes. Drain off any excess fat. Stir in chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and cayenne pepper; cook for 2 to 4 minutes to bloom the spices.

03

Step

Add fire-roasted diced tomatoes, beer, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and chipotle hot sauce; stir well to combine. Bring to a simmer.

04

Step

Reduce heat to medium-low. Cover partially and cook until the chili has thickened and the flavors have melded, about 30 to 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

05

Step

Stir in black beans and red kidney beans. Cook for an additional 10 to 15 minutes to heat through. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.

For a deeper smoky flavor, consider using smoked bacon.
Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper and chipotle hot sauce to your preferred level of spiciness.
Feel free to experiment with different types of beans or add other vegetables like bell peppers or corn.
This chili tastes even better the next day, as the flavors have more time to meld. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
