Follow The Directions

01

Step

Place the cubed celeriac in a large pot and cover with salted water. Bring to a boil over high heat. (2 minutes)

02

Step

Once boiling, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer gently until the celeriac is fork-tender. (Approximately 20 minutes)

03

Step

Drain the celeriac thoroughly and transfer it to a large bowl.

04

Step

Add the sour cream and dried dill to the bowl with the celeriac.

05

Step

Using a potato masher, mash the mixture until smooth and creamy, adjusting the amount of sour cream to achieve your desired consistency.

06

Step

Season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

For an even richer flavor, consider using crème fraîche instead of sour cream.
A knob of butter melted into the mash at the end adds a lovely sheen and extra layer of indulgence.
Fresh dill, finely chopped, can be substituted for dried dill; use approximately 1 teaspoon.
If you desire a perfectly smooth mash, you can use a food processor or blender, but be careful not to over-process, as it can become gluey.
